As part of the lecture series "Technical Universities. Perspectives on University History", experts in higher education and university history will present current research approaches and issues every week. The aim is to achieve the greatest possible understanding of the institutional similarities and differences between general and technical universities and to combine micro- and macrohistorical approaches. Thus, the fruitfulness of opening up questions of university history with a variety of approaches becomes apparent: It is part of the history of education, institutional history, political history, biographical history, student history, history of professions, (post-)colonial history, and much more.
