There is a lot of talk about global history in the media. Is it the prehistory of globalization? What historical problems and perspectives is it about? And how does it relate to the older German terms Welt- and Universalgeschichte? In any case, the topic has more to do with the story of the 19th Bond film than one might think: The world is no longer as easily divided into black and white as it was in the days of Sean Connery and Roger Moore as double OO-7 James Bond. It is becoming more and more like Bond's martini preference: shaken, not stirred. And maybe it's always been that way.
