    Among man-made disasters, climate change and nationalism vie for first place in deadliness. Nationalism blinds us to difficult gray-scale realities because it creates new, simple realities in which there is only black and white, good and evil.

    The lecture introduces the historical dimensions of nationalism over the last 200 years and puts them up for discussion.
