  • For some time now, there has been a debate in historiography about the end of the Age of Enlightenment. It is about the disappearance of political reason in the form of common sense and truth, among other things. Post-Enlightenment, polarizing thinking recognizes negotiated self-commitment only as long as one's own advantage is seen in it. It distinguishes only between allegiance and mortal enemies and denies an objective truth above identitarian bubbles. Where rational negotiation in the community ceases, the war of all against all begins. What does this new reality mean for our political present and future?
